Farming the Bible Workshop

Information and Intent:
The Farming the Bible Workshop is provided for rural churches in agricultural regions. The workshop can be held in a single church or for the community of churches in one area. The workshop is conducted by Randy Allen who has been an agricultural consultant for over 30 years. He resides in Austin, Texas. Spring Rain provides farm producers and those in the agricultural field a free devotional newsletter via email. Spring Rain has been in operation for 6 years.

Description:
Agriculture is the single most important industry in the Bible. Thus, farmers have been elected to a very high calling. It has been said before, “Oxygen, water, and food are the single most requirements for life here on earth.” If this is true, then there is much Biblical information to be shared.

Farming the Bible Workshops have 5 objectives:
1. A thorough historical investigation of agriculture in the Bible
2. What God intended for those who work the soil
3. What farmers have in common
4. How to live today and in the future as a Christian farmer that is life-rewarding
5. How to form an alliance with those who share the same farming occupation

Summary:
Many farmers have been surprised about how there business is related to God. The workshop is encouraging to say the least and it’s refreshing. Relationships are built, competition is quieted, and self-reliance is eliminated.
